The White Lioness. Like a lot of shows these days Kenneth Branagh’s version of Wallander is an international co-production. In this instance the Danish broadcaster has released it before the BBC. It is in English with hard coded Danish subtitles and annotations.

Inspector Kurt Wallander attending a conference in Cape Town, when he becomes involved in a case of a Swedish woman who is missing. This is the beginning of an emotional journey that leads Wallander from the beautiful rural South Africa for the black townships, which are characterized by desperate poverty.
