Nemesis: Raid on Drvar gives you the combined Axis battlegroup named after the German operation itself: Unternehmen Rösselsprung. SS-Gebirgsjäger make up the core of this formation. The fanatical SS-Fallschirmjäger paratroopers and the elite Brandenburg special forces can also be deployed. The Independent State of Croatia (NHD) - a fascist puppet state - is represented with Legionäre grenadiers, Domobran militia, and Ustache irregulars, as well as Serbian Chetniks royalists and Cossak pioneers. Heavy units are few and far in between, with armor support being relegated to old Italian L6/40, M15/42, and French R-35 and Somua tanks. In the skies above, the Croatian Air Force provides top cover with its arsenal of light and older planes, such as the BH-33E-SHS biplane, pre-war Yugoslav IK-2 fighter, or Italian-made Ca.310bis Libeccio recon bomber.

NOV (Narodnooslobodilačka Vojska)
Collected under the banner of Narodnooslobodilačka Vojska (NOV), the combined Yugoslav partisan forces were commanded by the charismatic leader Josip Broz “Tito”. This communist-led army was considered one of the most effective anti-Axis resistance movements in Europe. During Operation Rösselsprung the NOV troops resisted the airborne SS paratroopers fiercely. NOV soldiers - as a whole featuring the Raider trait - are equipped mostly with captured German and Italian arms, while SOE and OSS special forces instructors provide some extra firepower. The battlegroup can also count on heavier weapons, including captured Elefantino 47mm, Pak 50mm and 75mm AT guns. A ton of mortars, as well as Italian 75mm and 100mm mountain guns provide much-needed artillery support. A handful of outdated armor is available, such as Italian L6/40 and French R-35 and Somua tanks, and even the diminutive CV-33 tankettes. The multinational RAF Balkan Air Force provides heavy air cover, fielding the deadly Hurricane Mk.IV tank killer with its twin 40mm guns.

The NOV battlegroup features a wide array of flexible light forces, making it an excellent solution in taking and holding forests and towns on the battlefield.

Nemesis: Storming Toulon highlights the Allied invasion on the sunny French Riviera in the summer of 1944: Operation Dragoon. Once housing the French Mediterranean fleet, the Axis-controlled Toulon naval base's capture was critical to keep the supplies flowing for the Allied forces in Europe.

Veteran Free French divisions were tasked with securing the vitally important port of Toulon as soon as possible. Advancing rapidly after landing, the Allied troops gave the local Axis defenders little time to prepare. Heavy urban combat ensued, which lasted several days. Originally envisioned to take two months, the liberation of Toulon was achieved by the 20th of August after a bitter contest between the local German garrison and veteran Free French soldiers.

Nemesis: Storming Toulon features two brand-new battlegroups, meticulously researched and recreated in Steel Division 2, with a host of new units waiting to be deployed in solo, coop, or multiplayer.

Verteidigungsbereich Toulon

With Nemesis: Storming Toulon, the Axis battlegroup is Verteidigungsbereich Toulon - the ad hoc garrison ordered to defend the port at all costs. A large number of different troops can be deployed, including regular Grenadiere, Kriegsmarine Marineinfanterie, Marine-Einsatzkommando 71 (MEK), stranded U-boot crews, elite Brandenburg special forces and Italian San Marco naval infantry. Excelling in its artillery and anti-air units, Verteidigungsbereich Toulon can count on a large quantity of guns (including captured variants) such as the heavy Flak 38 105mm guns, Flakzwilling 37mm or Pak 36(r) 76,2mm.

This Axis battlegroup can also deploy the new Panzerstellung which mates a tank turret to a concrete casemate. They come in three different variants: Panzerstellung Panzer II, Panzerstellung 35R, and Panzerstellung 35S.

The Verteidigungsbereich Toulon can hold its own in a defensive fight thanks to its infantry and artillery support, but has difficulties if used in an offensive operation.

1e Division Française Libre

The torchbearers of the Free Fighting French, the 1e Division Française Libre was the real deal. This illustrious veteran formation came with a hefty dose of combat experience, taking part in battles ranging from Norway to the Middle East, North Africa, and Italy, before being deployed to liberate their homeland in Operation Dragoon.

The 1e Division Française Libre embodies Free France in its truest form, regrouping almost all the nationalities of the French colonial empire (and beyond), counting on elite Légionnaires, Sapeurs-Pionniers (with beard), experienced Polynesian soldiers and sailors, Commando d'Afriqu special forces, as well as North African and Senegalese Tirailleurs amongst others. Other new units include the M6 Fargo light truck equipped with a 37mm AT gun and the TD M10 RCA used as regular tank.

While it might lack tank or artillery support, it makes up for battlefield vigor, excellent infantry, and features substantial air support from Free France Air Force and nearby British aircraft carriers.

The 1e Division Française Libre excels as a boots-on-the-ground division, and though it lacks an armored punch, can hold its own on the battlefield.

Our second Nemesis DLC option highlights the Lvov Offensive. Although Operation Bagration proved so successful that it went down into history books as the offensive that broke the Wehrmacht’s back, it wasn’t the most powerful Red Army strike planned during the summer of 1944. That honor goes to the Lvov-Sandomierz operation. The double name refers to the Ukrainian city that provided the starting point, while the second title applies to the bridgehead established across the Vistula in Poland.
While the Wehrmacht’s reserves were hurriedly transferred to Belarussia to counter Bagration, the Soviets shipped even more firepower to the Lvov area: three tank armies and one cavalry-mechanized group.

This DLC will feature two units which distinguished themselves on each side of the Lvov battlefield: the German 20. Panzergrenadier-Division, supported by Schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung 653 (heavy tank destroyer battalion 653) ; and the Soviet 10th Guards Tank Corps, spearheaded by the 51st Independent Motorcycle Regiment.
One of the Wehrmacht’s “fire brigades” on the Eastern Front, the veteran 20. Panzergrenadier was accustomed to being rushed into battle when most needed. Forced to stem the tide again during the Lvov-Sandomierz offensive, the 20. PzG could count on the heavy-hitting support of s.Panzerjäger-Abteilung 653. Depleted of equipment and weaker than other Panzergrenadier divisions, the battlegroup does feature a full-strength complement of StuG IVs and Jagdpanzer IVs. The s.PzJäger-Abt. 653 fields the most impressive – and unusual – units. This attached formation can deploy Elefant heavy tank destroyers, Bef. Tiger (P) & Bef. Panzer V/IV command tank, and Flakpanzer T-34, … The 20. Panzergrenadier is incredibly powerful on the defense but lacks the recon and tank strength to serve as a true offensive battlegroup.An experienced division formed by the battles of Kursk and Bryansk, the 10-y Gv. Tank. Korpus (10th Guards Tank Corps) spearheaded the assault at the start of the Lvov-Sandomierz Operation. The attached 51st Independent Motorcycle Regiment, with its captured German equipment, acted as the vanguard. The 10-y Gv. Tank. Korpus has access to the T-34/76 and the more potent T-34/85, while several lend-lease Valentine III and SU-57 can be found with its powerful recon forces. The battlegroup’s roster also features half a dozen Tiger E (T-6 Tigr) and Panther A (T-5 Pantera) tanks. The corps main drawback lies with its AA, limited to 37mm AA guns and quad-Maxim, forcing it to rely on its air force for cover. The 10-y Gv. Tank. Korpus excels as an offensive battlegroup but can lose its footing when pressed hard in a defensive situation.
