Season 03, Episode 03 - "Padarn Country Park"
Iolo visits Padarn Country Park next to the town of Llanberis at the northern edge of Snowdonia. The park, which has been created on the site of an old slate quarry, is set in a stunning landscape surrounded by the highest mountains in Wales. During spring, migrant birds from Africa arrive. Ring ouzel, one of the most sought-after birds in the whole of the UK, sing above the old slate tips. Wood warblers and pied flycatchers establish territories in the park's ancient woodland, which has survived two centuries of mining. Hidden in the woodland, there are derelict buildings that were once used to store gunpowder. The old quarry work levels are favourite places for slow worms - our legless lizards. The trains of the old quarry have also survived and have been lovingly restored by Llanberis Lake Railway. Llyn Padarn is the second largest natural lake in the whole of Wales and is one of the prime spots in Snowdonia for water sports. By night, otters use the lake and the deep water is home for Arctic char fish.

Season 03, Episode 02 - "Margam Country Park"
Nature expert Iolo Williams visits Margam Country Park, which overlooks Port Talbot steel works. The park was once part of an estate that was owned by one of the richest families in south Wales - the Talbots. At its centre, there is a magnificent Gothic castle, which is surrounded by beautiful parkland, lakes and mature woodland.Three species of deer roam the park, and 11 of the 18 species of bats living in Britain can be found here. Hiding in the lakes, there are water scorpions and extraordinary leeches that climb into duck beaks. On the drier, bracken-covered slopes, adders lurk, and in ancient sweet chestnut trees, woodpeckers drum and excavate nest holes.During medieval times, the estate was owned by Cistercian monks, who employed skilled stonemasons and left signatures on the abbey stones.

Iolo Williams explores historic estates in Wales, finding out what special places they are for wildlife. These parks are now open for everyone to enjoy but sometimes the wildlife goes unnoticed. Iolo meets with people who have inside knowledge to share, uses his expertise as a naturalist to track down wildlife and finds elusive night-time creatures.

Season 01, Episode 10 - "Great Orme Country Park"
Iolo visits Great Orme Country Park, which is on a magnificent limestone headland next to the Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno in north Wales. While thousands visit the park each year to enjoy fantastic views of the Conwy estuary and the north Wales coast, few of the visitors are aware of the special wildlife that live on the Orme, such as the silver-studded blue butterfly that is unique to the park. It is also a hunting ground for ferocious stoats and a stopping-off point for migrating birds on their way from Africa to Iceland. There are also the Orme's white Kashmir goats who, believe it or not, are taking contraceptives. It is a park full of history and ancient mines.
