First, the have to create avant-garde bridal hairstyles for models taking to the stage in front of the event’s 900 invitees. Judges Alain Pichon and Denise McAdam want the stylists to create high-fashion, high-concept bridal hair – they don’t want to see delicate braiding so the pressure is on to prove the stylists can think outside of the box.And then it’s every hairdresser’s fantasy as the stylists must give real brides the wedding day hairdo of their dreams. Who will be walking down the aisle as the winner of Hair 2015?

It’s the semi-final of Hair and the stylists’ last chance to prove to judges Alain Pichon and Denise McAdam that they deserve a place in the final. In the freestyle round, the theme is nature, and on offer are a tree, a lion, a butterfly and a Chinese goddess called Hu Tu.And there’s a twist in the Eliminator as all four semi-finalists find themselves taking it on. It is the most challenging task of the competition so far – the amateurs’ first haircut. The A-line bob is a technically demanding cut that requires a steady hand and absolute precision. In a bid to impress judges Alain Pichon and Denise McAdam, the stylists are going for big and bold creations. 30-year-old ex-banker Marlene’s design is based on Mr Tumnus from the Chronicles of Narnia, whilst 33-year-old Phil is doing his take on Miss Havisham from Great Expectations.
The three stylists who fail to wow the judges will find themselves in the Eliminator, and this week it’s the 1980s classic – spiral curls. With up to 50 individual sections of hair to curl in just 60 minutes, who will keep their nerve and whose nerves will spiral out of control?

The seven remaining amateur stylists are sent behind the scenes at a London Fashion Week launch party. First up are a bunch of fussy beauty bloggers who aren’t afraid to tell the stylists exactly what they think of the finished hairstyles. With Alain and Denise taking into account the bloggers’ opinions, the pressure is on for our amateurs.Then it’s onto the launch party’s main event – giving seven professional models identical high-fashion mohawks for a catwalk show. The judges are demanding a mohawk that is exactly 8cm high, so there is no room for error. Failure to impress will mean almost certain elimination from the competition.

And to do that, they'll have to impress the judges - royal hairdresser Denise McAdam and celebrity superstar stylist Alain Pichon, who counts David Beckham as one of his clients. In the freestyle challenge, the ten hopefuls will have to design a hairstyle to fit the theme of architecture. 33-year-old Phil gave up a long career in shoe retail to pursue his dream of becoming a professional hairdresser and he's hoping his take on London's newest skyscraper will impress the Judges. 31-year-old single dad Daniel and 58-year-old retired teacher Lesley have both set their sights on Beijing's birds nest Olympic stadium - will either win the gold from Denise and Alain? What the contestants don't know is that the five who fail to impress in the freestyle will find themselves in the eliminator - a short sharp test of their nerve and hairstyling know-how. They will have to pull off a sleek ponytail, the hair equivalent of boiling the perfect egg.
Who will impress the judges, and whose time in the competition is over for good?
