From his shop in Camperdown Victoria, Demolition Man Lawrie Voutier turns a nice buck selling salvaged building materials and rare antiques. Today he's agreed to help clear his old mate Johnny's property out at cost, and anything he can salvage for himself is a bonus. Old Johnny worked in an auction house – so Lawrie knows there'll be some treasure buried amongst the junk – if he can find it! While Lawrie loves finding hidden treasure – demolition has built his empire. And today, his right hand man Jabba is starting a major job demolishing an old Hungry Jacks. Trouble is, the storm of the year is on its way! With the wind coming up and a whole building to knock down, Jabba has a race on his hand – but his biggest problem might well be Lawrie himself. It's the day of Charlie's 12th birthday but while Sue and Charlie get ready to celebrate Lawrie has other concerns. His favourite tool, his beloved pinch bar, is missing. For Lawrie, it's no laughing matter.

In this debut episode, right hand man, Benny ‘The Human Crane’ learns the dark arts of salvage when he uncovers rare red stained glass in a country cottage. Lawrie shows why he’s the master of the deal when he buys vintage farm gates from a crusty old junkyard owner. He already has a buyer lined up down the road. If he can get the right price, it’ll mean he can use the profit to buy even more stuff. It’s the circle of life – Lawrie style. The Demolition Man has bought a very heavy piano from a mate. That’s the easy part. Now he has to work out how to get it from the second storey of his mate’s house to inside his homestead a good two hours on the highway. Lawrie’s brought ‘The Human Crane’ and his right-hand man Jabba to help him. But they’ve never moved anything this precious before. What could possibly go wrong?
