Steve and Becky are young, unemployed and lazy. All they want to do is eat, drink and have sex – so they do. They don’t want to get a job – so they don’t. Lazing around in Steve’s bedsit, Steve [Russell Tovey] and Becky [Sarah Solemani] are happy to spend their days achieving nothing. Except watching DVDs. And playing on Xbox. And constantly teasing each other. But people are always there to interrupt them, be it Dan – the lonely bloke from upstairs, Laura and Paul – Becky’s sister and her fiancé or, most frightening for Steve, Becky’s parents. Steve wants to be alone with the one girl he’s found he’s mad about. That feeling you get when … you’re young and … you know? The more he likes her, the more desperate he gets. It bubbles away inside him till it explodes, in the series finale, after a big, drunken night out. Him & Her is an anti-romantic comedy. It lifts the lid on love as it really is – warts and all – with farts, bickering and toast.

Episode 6: The Argument - Steve and Becky are drunk and arguing. They storm back into the flat, soon followed by their even drunker friends and Jamie, Becky’s oldest friend. While everyone drinks Steve’s drinks and eats all his food, Steve tries in vain to deal with Becky and her close friendship with Jamie. Eventually he can’t take it any more and locks Becky in the bathroom. He has something he really needs to get off his chest.
