Heston's Great British Food sees Heston Blumenthal taking a different iconic British dish per episode to take a look at its secret history, to use as inspiration for a culinary salute.

Season 1, Episode 1 - "Fish and Chips"
Heston learns how the industrial age managed to fuel the proliferation of chip shops. He takes a look at the heyday of 'fish Friday' and the part that fish and chips played in World War II. He then creates a fish and chip supper.
