PT1: September 1920, the Vatican appoints Father Arno Moriani, the ‘’Devil’s Advocat’’, to investigate a potential candidate for sainthood in Transylvania: Martha Calugarul, who lived in the small town of Vladoviste. While staying at the village inn, Father Arno meets several interesting people : Ozana, the inn keeper; Janos Pekmester, a teacher at Alba Lula University; Maria Florescu, the doctor who has replaced Martha at the dispensary; and Stephan Luca, a journalist. After hearing revelations about strange creatures called “vampires”, Father Arno’s mission changes: he is to investigate those monsters coming from the Romanian folklore to demystify them. The official position of the Catholic Church is clear: those pagan beliefs have to disappear. Father Arno contacts Irina Boczow, who is famous for her book collection and knowledge about vampires. Irina agrees to help Father Arno in his mission and invites him to come and visit her in Budapest.

PT2: Back from Budapest, Father Arno continues his investigation. He meets Professor Kruger, a former colleague of Martha Calugarul, and Maria, who now replaces Marthaat the dispensary. Father Arno receives new clues but is no closer to solving themystery. Later, Stephan Luca, the journalist who discussed vampires with Father Arno, is found dead in his room at the inn. It is now obvious that dark forces are at work. As those events are linked to his arrival in town, Father Arno’s presence is no longer welcome by the local townspeople. Continuing his mission, Father Arno decides to follow the mysterious “Path of the Dragon”, which leads him to Turkey. After investigating in old Turkish prisons, Father Arno understands in his dreams that he has accomplished the first trials. He is on “the Path”. Back in Vladoviste, Father Arno meets Irina Boczow to explain his projects. Conscious that “the Path of the Dragon” is very risky, Irina asks Father Arno to come and meet her again in Budapest to help him prepare this tough task. But when he arrives, Father Arno discovers Irina’s dead body…

Father Arno frees Janos and continues the trials alone. At the last trial Father Arnos finally comes face to face with… Dracula! Unexpectedly, Father Arno finds Maria and discovers that she is actually one of the Dragon’s maids, although she helped Father Arno from the start. She advises him to answer Dracula’s questions wisely and to join her as an immortal. Find out Father Arno’s choice, and the outcome of his face to face encounter with Dracula!
