If I had to pick, though, I’m team old school. I prefer the older guy with the cape and the pasty white face and the sophisticated taste in the fine arts, and I prefer the stories be set in a period where it was possible for the townsfolk to believe in such a creature. That makes it easier for me to buy into the story.

The story centers around Father Arno Moriani, who—while on appointment from the Vatican to research a possible candidate for sainthood—uncovers far more than he expected. The mission quickly turns to disproving the existence of vampires, but guess what; that’s not so easy to pull off when people keep dying and townspeople tell you far less than they know.
