Plot: Based on the bestseller by Alessandro d?Avenia, Bianca come il latte, rossa come il sangue (As white as milk, as red as blood) the film tells the story of Leo, a sixteen-year-old boy like any other; he loves chatting with his friends, football, and rides on his moped, and he lives in perfect harmony with his iPod. The hours spent at school are torture, the teachers are a ?protected species" that he hopes will become extinct, once and for good. White represents absence, everything in his life that has got to do with deprivation and loss is white. In contrast, red is the colour of love, of passion, of blood; red is the colour of Beatrice?s hair, because Leo has a dream, and that dream is Beatrice, although she doesn?t know it yet. When he discovers that Beatrice is ill, and that her illness has something to do with the white that terrifies him so much, Leo has to dig deep, to bleed and be reborn, in order to understand that dreams must not die, and he has to find the courage to believe in something greater.
