Legendary British conductor Sir Mark Elder gives us a very personal view of a work he describes as the greatest symphony ever written in Britain – Elgar’s Second. Edward Elgar himself described it as ‘the passionate pilgrimage of a soul’ and Sir Mark leads us on this journey, conducting the Halle Orchestra at the BBC Proms. Presented from the Royal Albert Hall by Katie Derham.
